Chiefs vs. Cardinals

Being a Chiefs fan does not make my football life very easy. That, coupled with the fact that I'm starting some guy named Hank Baskett in my fantasy league this week, should give you a pretty good idea of how great this fall has gone so far. If MU wasn't winning, I would probably be on suicide watch.

Playing at Arizona should have been a test, but not a "kick a fieldgoal with less than 2 minutes left in the game to win 23-20" test. I knew it was going to be a long day when Leinhart's first two passes went for touchdowns (go Anquan Boldin). It was good to see the defense sack up and only allow 2 fieldgoals for the rest of the game. Side note: I'm really happy with how the defense looks so far this year (being ranked 30th in the league for the past couple of years probably has me giddy about any D with a pulse).

Damon Huard has actually been a pleasant surprise, but now we all know how bad we miss Roaf and Wellbourne at the tackles. Our pass protection has more holes in it than TO's "allergic reaction" defense. Granted, there are still 12 games left (with the bye week already gone, mind you), but Hermball is starting to look like Martyball on estrogen. And with Pittsburgh, San Diego and Seattle in the next 3 weeks, we could be out of the playoff picture by November.

Rating: 6.5 out of 10 (with the defense scoring 5.8 of those points)
