DVD Review: Click

We tried to rent this movie last week, but it was out of stock. This week, it was guaranteed in stock or it was free. So we go to the front desk to get a copy, and they're out. The girl writes up our free voucher, then realizes that they have a copy that has just been returned. Sweet! I even talked her into letting us use our voucher literally before the ink had dried.

The movie was pretty solid. Don't get me wrong, this is no Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore, but it's definitely a solid rent. Basically, Adam Sandler is an architect that works too much, misses his son's swim meet, disappoints the wife, and generally doesn't have enough time in the day to do anything other than work. So he stumbles across this special remote that controls real life.

My only complaint with this movie is that his wife, played by Kate Beckinsale, is entirely too skinny to have ever given birth to two kids. She's also entirely way too understanding with her husband. This guy works all the time, screws up with the kids, cancels the family vacation due to work, and she barely bats an eyelash. It's not a movie killer or anything, it was just something I noticed over the course of the movie.

Overall Rating: 7.5 out of 10.

I agree. Not going to win any awards, but a good quality flick. It got a little too serious for me for a while, but redeemed itself at the very end of the movie.
As always, Sandler was great.
Have you ever noticed that mediocre looking guys have a great chance of being cast with a hot chic (i.e. King of Queens, Click, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, School for Scoundrels), but you'll never find a nicer looking guy fall for an ugly woman? Just an observation. Hey, I'll admit it, I married up too!
